The committee of defence of human Rights in Iran in brief

The committee of defence of human Rights in Iran (CDHRI) is an independent and not for profit cultural association which has been established to raise awareness about the human right situation in Iran. CDHRI   was established in 1999 by a group of Iranian in Sweden.

 

The committee does not support or promote any ideology, religion, particular political views or political groups or parties.

The committee relies on the voluntary work of its members, donations by members of the public and grants awarded by funding bodies.

The mission of committee is to monitor and action focused on preventing and ending abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression.

Our vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

Objektives:

  • To work for raise awareness about the human right situation in Iran
  • To works for fair and prompt trials for political prisoners.
  • To have co-operation t with international organisations which have similar gaols.
  • It opposes without reservation the death penalty, torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
  • To campaigns for an end to political killings and "disappearances".
