We, The “Iranian Human Rights Activists in
In the last 25 years, Iranian regime violated these
rights on the following general basis:
1- Condemning tens of thousands
of political opponents to death, without the presence of defense attorneies or juries;
2- Mass exeution of political
prisoners, following the cease fire in the war with
3- Widespread assasination of
opponents in foreign lands;
4- Political assasination of
opponents in
5- Violationss of the rights of
religious and ethnic minorities;
6- In the last few years, second
highest number of death centences issued and performed in the world, including
execution of minors;
7- Extensive closure of
newspapers and magazines, filtering of web sites, censureship of books, and the
biggest number of imprisoned journalists in the
8- Systematic and extensive
breach of women’s rights, including stoninig;
9- Wiespread persecution of
student activists;
10- Arrest and expulsion of labor
activists;
11- Common use of extensive
physical and psychological torture, as well as cenetences of dismembering body parts.
Acordingly, we appeal to all Iranian and
International human rights activists and organizations to do their outermost to
prevent the government of Islamic Republic of Iran from becoming a menber of
the Human Rights Council, so that the glimmer of hope generated by the creation
of this Council, for more serious and effective response to the violations of
human rights, would not die.
