In this report a little part of the human rights violations instances in Iran has been compiled

 

Banned students' publication:

 

1)      The students' publication "Sokhan Tazeh" with chief direction of "Salman Sima" was banned by the order of the cultural council of "Southern Tehran Azad University" for abusing the publication tribune, inviting to protest, creating tension within society, and encouraging individuals and groups to act against national security and the regime's interests. 2)      The students' publication "Gozineh 11" was banned for 3 months by the order of the committee for controlling students' publications of Rajayi University in Tehran. (ISNA 26/12/2005)

 

3)      The students' publication "Takhteh Siyah" which was published by the Sirjan Azad University's Anjoman-e Eslami, was banned by the order of this university's committee for controlling students' publications. (Avdar News 13/01/2006)

 

4)      Activities of Anjoman-e Eslami in Lorestan University, Kashan's medical school, Rajayi University, Esfahan University, and Medical Sciences University were banned by the order of the committee for controlling students' organizations. (Advar News 15/01/2006)

 

Students: Trials

 

5)      "Amir Ra'yat Nezam" student of Tehran University went on trial in the 26th branch of Tehran revolution court for acting against national security. (ISNA 09.01.2006)

 

Students: sentences by courts

 

6)      "Saeed Ardeshiri", "Reza Delayi Milan", and "Hossein Khodayari" students of Kerman's Bahonar University went on trial in the first branch of Kerman's revolution court for acting against national security through stimulating individuals against regime and disturbing. The first degree accused was sentenced to a year of detention and the others each to 5 months of conditional detention. (ILNA 07/01/2006)

 

Students: Sentences by disciplinary committees

 

7)      "Abbas Hakim Zadeh", student of Amir Kabir University and chief editor of students' publication "Vajeh", was suspended for one semester by the university's disciplinary committee for intriguing and interrupting university programs. (ILNA 25/12/2005)

 

8)      "Abed Tavancheh", member of the central students' Anjoman-e Eslami of Amir Kabir University and director in charge of the students' publication "Shakheh Nabat", was suspended for a semester by this university's disciplinary committee. (Advar News 26/12/2005)

 

9)      "Mohammad Amin Mahdoush" member of students' Anjoman-e Eslami of Esfahan University and one of the writers of students' publication "Marefat" was suspended for one semester. (ISNA 31/12/2005)

 

10)  "Amin Ghaleyi" and "Ahmad Mirzayi" members of students' Anjoman-e Eslami of Esfahan University were suspended for one semester by this university's disciplinary committee. (ISNA 31/12/2005)

 

11)  "Alireza Maghsoodi" the head of students' Basij of Bandar Abbas Azad university was suspended for one semester by this university's disciplinary committee for publishing the students' publication "Talangor", insulting and spreading lies. (Baztab 02/01/2006)

 

12)  "Gharib Sajadi" member of students' Anjoman-e Eslami of Tarbiat-e moallem-e Tehran University was suspended for one semester by this university's disciplinary committee for intriguing order. (ISNA 04/02/2006)

 

13)  "Arash Khandel", "Siamak Nadali" and "Mohammad Javad Doroudkeshan" members of students' Anjoman-e Eslami of Lorestan University were suspended for three semesters by this university's disciplinary committee for intriguing university's order. (Advar News 13/01/2006)

 

14)  "Mohsen Sohrabi" member of students' Anjoman-e Eslami of Amir Kabir University was suspended for one semester by this university's disciplinary committee for insulting one of this university's staff. (ILNA 17/01/2006)

 

15)  "Amir Reza Ardalan" student of Shahreza Azad University was banned from the university and the exam rooms by the security forces. His arrest was ordered by Nikpour the head of students' branch of Shahreza's information office. He was arrested by the anti-revolt officers, was taken to Naja's information office and was released after few hours. He is accused of political activities and cooperating with illegal and anti-regime groups. (Advar News 11/01/2006)

 

Students: Summoned to disciplinary committees

16)  "Sajjad Niknam" head of students' Anjoman-e Eslami of Oroumiyeh University was summoned to the disciplinary committee for the forth time in the last two weeks. (ISNA 26/12/2005)

 

17)  "Mohammad Mahdi Ahmadi", "Nader Dinari" and "Rouhollah Zali Moghaddam" members of students' Anjoman-e Eslami of Shiraz University were summoned to the disciplinary committee. (Advar News 31/12/2005)

 

18)  According to head of students' Anjoman-e Eslami of Oroumiyeh University more than 50 students were summoned to the disciplinary committee of whom many are members of students' Anjoman-e Eslami or students' union. (ISNA 10/01/2006)

 

Students: Summoned to courts

 

19)  The file of "Mohammad Mobasheri" student of Sharif University was transferred from Estahban's public court to this town's revolution court. He is accused of acting against national security. (ISNA 26/12/2005)

 

20)  "Farid Hashemi" student of Tehran University was summoned to the 26th branch of Tehran revolution court for participating in students' demonstration of Khordad 82 and acting against national security. He was also summoned to the disciplinary committee for participating in the founder committee of "Democratic society of Tehran University’s students". (Advar News 01/01/2006)

 

21)  "Peyman Aref" student of Tehran University was summoned to the 26th branch of Tehran revolution court for acting against national security and advertising against regime. (ILNA 08/01/2006)

 

22)  "Reyhaneh Pourghani" director in charge of the banned students' publication "Ghizil Ozan", "Ma'refatollah Fazli" director in charge of the students' publication "Zangan Souzlari" and "Yashar Pour Maraghi" students of Zanjan University were summoned and threatened by the security officers. 23)  "Asiya" newspaper and biweekly publication "Nourbaran" were banned by the order of ministry of culture and Ershad's committee for controlling publications and their files were transferred to the press court. (ILNA 02/01/2006)

 

24)  The 67th edition of "Arasbaran" magazine was banned for publishing a memorial edition for ninety first anniversary of "Sattar Kahn"'s death. (Advar News 05/01/2006)

25)  "Gholam Heydar Ebrahim Pay salami" the former director in charge of "Hambastegi" newspaper was summoned to court for spreading lies and publishing false material. (ISNA 08/01/2006)

 

26)  "Faraydoon Verdi Nejad" the former director of "IRNA" was summoned to court for spreading lies and insulting. (ILNA 09/01/2006)

 

27)  Qom webloggers "Farid Modaressi" and "Hossein Abdollah Pour" were summoned to court for insulting officials. (ILNA 16/01/2006)

30)  "Mohammad Hassan Pezeshk" director in charge of "Film Negar" publication was tried in Tehran's court for publishing foreign scripts and material against public modesty. (ILNA 25/12/2005)

 

31)  "Sakineh Karim Khani" director in charge of "Ahang-e Zendegi" publication was tried in Tehran's court for objectifying people in pictures. (ILNA 25/12/2005)

 

32)  "Zahra Amiri" director in charge of "Cinema Kahnevadeh" publication was tried in Tehran's court for objectifying people in pictures. (ILNA 25/12/2005)

 

33)  "Kamran Ahmad Pour" director in charge of sport newspaper "Navad" was tried in Tehran's court for publishing untrue materials. (ILNA 25/12/2005)

 

34)  "Foad Sadeghi" director in charge of "Baztab" website was tried in Tehran's court for spreading lies to agitate public mind. (ILNA 27/12/2005)

 

35)  "Lotfollah Meisami" director in charge of bimonthly newsletter "Cheshm Andaz-e Iran" was tried in Tehran's court for publishing untrue materials to agitate public mind and materials against constitution. (ILNA 01/01/2006)

 

36)  "Ardeshir Haji Hosseini" director in charge of "Kanoon Khanevadeh" publication was tried in Tehran's court for publishing "Rozita Ghaffari"'s picture (Iranian film star), objectifying people in pictures and publishing pictures against public modesty. (ILNA 01/01/2006)

 

37)  "Akbar Anbori" director in charge of "Binandegan" publication was tried in Tehran's court forpublishing pictures against public modesty. (ILNA 01/01/2006)

 

38)  "Isa Khan Hatami" director in charge of "Iran Mehr" publication was tried in Tehran's court for advertising against the regime and insulting members of "Shoray-e Negahban" (Council of Guardians). (ISNA 29/12/2005)

 

39)  "Mahdi Rahmanian" director in charge of "Shargh" newspaper was tried in Tehran's court for spreading lies to agitate public mind, publishing untrue material, and insulting members of "Shoray-e Negahban" (Council of Guardians) and the leader. (ISNA 08/01/2006)

 

40)  "Elyas Hazrati" director in charge of "Etemad" newspaper was tried in Tehran's court for advertising against the regime, encouraging groups to act against regime, spreading lies to agitate public mind and insulting. (ILNA 15/01/2006)

 

Press: Sentences by courts

 

41)  "MAjid Ghasemi Feiz Abadi" director in charge of the banned newspaper "Payam Saba" was sentenced to pay a 1,000,000 Rials fine for spreading lies. (ILNA 26/12/2005)

 

42)  "Ahmad Reza Shiri" journalist and political activist from Mashhad, was sentenced to 3 years suspended conviction imprisonment for acting against national security, spreading lies and cooperating with press outside Iran. His camera along with other stuff collected by the security forces from his house was taken as a requisition. (Advar News 26/12/2005)

 

Banned books

 

43)  14 of Sadegh Hedayat's books and books about him have been sent to the ministry of Islamic culture about 8 months ago and have not received publishing permit yet. (ISNA 28/12/2005)

 

44)  3 of Fariborz Dana's books have been sent to the ministry of Islamic culture more than 9 months ago and have not received publishing permit yet. (ILNA 31/12/2005)

 

45)  Masood Deh Namaki's book "Faghr va Fahsha" was banned after the objection of some clergy in Iran. Officers of the ministry of culture took all related films and versions of the book from the publisher. (Baztab 02/01/2006)

 

Websites banned

 

46)  The police of Khoy, searched some of this city Coffee-nets and closed some. Some of the users stated that the coffee-nets whose internet providers were filtering less and provided better internet speed or their users used anti-filter sites to access news sites were first to be closed. (Tabriz News 22/12/2005)

 

47)  By the order of "Maragheh" police, this town's coffee-nets are banned from accepting female users. (Advar news 07/01/2006)

 

48)  By the order of regime officials, the PTT office filtered "Women rights" chapter of "Ayatollah Sane'I" website. (Tanin-e Sokoot weblog 08/01/2006)

 

49)  By the order of Karaj's public prosecutor 3 of Karaj internet companies were closed to prevent internet organized crimes. According to "Mehrdad Karami" the director of internet crime stopper, the companies have to act according to the law and follow these instructions: get a permit from the ministry of communication and information technology, obey filtering laws and not using illegal satellite technologies. 50)  By the order of regime officials, the PTT office filtered the news website "Entekhab". (Entekhab 18/01/2006)

 

News of political, social and cultural activists

 

51)  The 400 people Koran class of Dr. Gharavi, member of the central committee of Nehzat-e Azadi Iran, was closed in Esfahan and Nasr Abad by the order of the information office. His "Namaz Jom'eh" (Friday prayers) session was also banned about 4 months ago. (ILNA 24/12/2005)

 

52)  As the flight security officers prevented the employee of satellite television "Saba" to leave the airplane with the tape of its first program, Behrouz Afkhami director of this television announced that all of this television activities are prohibited in Iran according to the order of the ministry of Islamic culture, information ministry and the supreme committee of national security. He also added that since "Saba" can not guarantee activity possibility and job security for its journalists, this network is officially closed temporarily. (ILNA 26/12/2005)

 

53)  Ajlal Ghavami", "Saeed Saedi", "Madeh Ahmadi", "Roya Tolooi", "Mohammad Sadigh Kabood vand", "BEhzad Khoshhali", "Omid Ahmad Zadeh" and "Kayvan Farahmandi" journalists or human right activists were threatened to be killed by "Ommat Hezbollah Kordestan – Sanandaj branch". 54)  The anniversary of "Haghighat" newspaper publication (published for the first time in 1921) which was going to be held in a private hall was cancelled after a threat by the security officers. (Akhbar-e Rouz 10/01/2006)

 

55)  The security forces based in Mehr Abad airport prevented Shirin Ebadi and Mohammad Ali Dadkhah, members of "Kanoun-e Modafean-e Hoghough Bashar" (society of human right activists) from flying to participate in a human right gathering in Isfahan. (Nasr-e Ma 06/01/2006)

56)  "Himin Mahmoudi" from Ashnouyeh was summoned to Oroumiyeh court for advertising against regime and connection to Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan. (Kurdistan Human Rights Organization - RMMK 28/12/2005)

 

57)  "Saeed Kalanaki, "Hasan Gheysari" and "Amin kord", political activists were summoned to Tehran court for interrogation. (ILNA 30/12/2005)

 

58)  "Mohammad Sharifi Moghadam" director of nurses home was sentenced in the primary committee of office violations for participating in sit-out, strike and illegal demonstrations of Tabriz in 1384. (ISNA 13/01/2006)

 

59)  "Mahmoud Yeganegi" former member of the parliament was summoned to the government official's court. (Advar News 15/01/2006)

 

60)  "Sa'di Mohammadi" and "Mohammad Rahimi", worker union activists were interrogated for 5 hours in the information office of their town "Baneh". (Payam 18/01/2006)

 

Political, social and cultural activists' trials

 

61)  "Shahram Ansari", "Sa'di Kahdemi", "Mohyeddin Azadi", "Fardin Faraj Pour", "Salaheddin Saadat", "Bahaeddin Shoja'I nejad", "Peyman Sadaghiani", "Ataollah Mohammad Zadeh" and "Nozad Alayi" detainees of Saghez public demonstrations of 1384 were tried in Saghez's revolution court. 62)  "Reza Alijani", "Taghi Rahmani", "Hoda Saber" and "Amir Teyrani" activists were tried privately for the last time in Tehran's revolution court for advertising against the regime, forming an illegal group and gathering for the purpose of committing crimes. (ISNA 28/12/2005)

 

63)  "Mahdi Amini Zadeh", "Mohammad Rezayi", "Mika'il Azimi" and "Ali Asghar Sadeghi" members of Sepehr Andisheh Novin institute were tried privately for the last time in Tehran's revolution court for advertising against the regime, forming an illegal group and gathering for the purpose of leading students' demonstrations of 1382. 64)  "Reza Alijani" activist who is being tried with "Taghi Rahmani", "Hoda Saber" and "Amir Teyrani", "Mahdi Amini Zadeh", "Mohammad Rezayi", "Mika'il Azimi" and "Ali Asghar Sadeghi" said that one of their friends has spoken in the 90th commission of the parliament about the pressures they bore in jail such as being insulted, tolerating beating, being forced to stand for 54 hours, being prevented from sleeping, witnessing artificial execution, being threatened to be sent to other bands in order for the detainees to be sexually harassed and being threatened to fabricate links to Sazman-e Mojahedin-e Khalgh. He also added that the choice was between being linked to Sazman-e Mojahedin-e Khalgh and confessing to stimulation and disturbance in which case most chose the confession. (Rooz 29/12/2005)

 

65)  "Mostafa Tofighi", "Jafar Sharifi", "Hossein Zinati", "Aram Soufi", "Aram Satouri" and "Rasoul Eini" arrested in Saghez's public demonstrations were privatelt and in absence of their lawyers tried in Saghez's revolution court for acting against national security and vandalizing governmental goods. "Aram Soufi" and "Mostafa Tofighi" were released on a 150 million Rials bail following 5 months of detention. "Mostafa Tofighi" has spent 11 years in Saghez and Semnan prisons for cooperation with some political parties and was released recently. (Kurdistan Human Rights Organization - RMMK 17/01/2006)

 

Political, social and cultural activists arrest

 

66)  "Mansour Asanloo", "Ebrahim Madadi", "Dawood Razavi", "AliZad Hossein", "Akbar Yaghoobi", "Reza Boorboor", "Hamid Reza Rezayi far", "Javad Kafayi", "Naser Gholami", "Yaghoob Salimi", "Mostafa Amiri", "Javad Sidvand", "Sadegh Khandan", "Amir Takhiri", "Reza Khani", "Saeed Torabian", " Morteza Kamsari", " Reza Shahabi", "Hamid Zandi", "Ali Ghorbanian", "Arsalan Zargarnia", "Hossein Mehdikhani", "Hossein Javadi", "Majid Talayi", " Mansour Hayat Gheibi", " Abbas Najand Koodaki", "Reza Tarazi", "Gholamreza Mirzayi", "Ali Ebrahimi", "Sadegh Mohammadi" and some others of Tehran bus union activists were arrested for trying to form n illegal union  and disturbing national security in form of strike. Participant workers of this strike were beaten and insulted. Except for "Mansour Asanloo" union director all other workers were released. Asanloo suffers from heart and eye problems and he was to be operated on last week. (Advar News and Akhbar Rooz 22-29/12/2005)

 

67)  "Vazir Ghaderi", "Vahed Ashrafpour", "Farhad Fatahi", "Mohammad Reza Ramineh", "Ardalan Ramineh", "Seraj Ghasemi" and "Ashkan Ahmadi" were arrested by Kermanshah security forces for advertising for the Democratic party of Kurdestan. 68)  Two workers of "Pishineh Baft" Textile Company in Ghazvin were arrested in front of Ghazvin provincial building. This company has not paid its 800 workers in 8 months and workers were demonstrating in front of the provincial building to object. (IRNA 08/01/2006)

 

69)  "Ahmad Vatmani" from "Shireh Joo" near the town of Mahabad, was arrested by the security forces and transferred to an unknown place for possessing Kurdestan's flag and participating in this summer's public demonstration. (Kurdistan Human Rights Organization - RMMK 10/01/2006)

 

 

 

Political, social and cultural activists: interrogation

 

70)  "Ms. Sormeh Kamkar" member of the women committee of Kurdistan Human Rights Organization - RMMK was kidnapped from Mahabad streets and was beaten and insulted. According to Ms. Kamkar the officers used dirty language repeatedly, closed her eyes and took her to an unknown place where they tortured her by pulling her hair and twisting her arms. 71)  "Yousef Molayi" was interrogated in government workers court for spreading lies in order to cloud public minds. (ISNA 26/01/2006)

 

Political, social and cultural activists: sentences by courts

 

72)  "Javad Abbasi" teacher and activist from Salmas was sentenced in Khoy to 6 months of retaintion for separatism and relation with Pan-turkist groups. (Committee for Defense of the Political Prisoners of Azerbaijan - ASMAK 84/10/27) Abbasi is in an urgent need to have a throat operation. The prison officials have not yet done anything for his transfer to a hospital. (Advar News 17/01/2006)

 

73)  "Hedayat Zaker" teacher and activist, was sentenced to one year of detention in Tabriz's court for separatism. His salary was cut out. "Mir Ajdar Hosseini" was interrogated in Marand court for advertising against regime. "Ali Hossein Zadeh" graduate student of Tabriz University was summoned to Marand revolution court for trial for advertising against regime. "Seyed Javad Mousavi" was summoned to Oroumiyeh revolution court for trial. He is accused of participating in an illegal gathering in remembrance of "Dr. Mohammad Taghi Zahtabi" a victim of chain assassinations. 74)  "Heshmatollah Tabarzadi" was sentenced to 7 years of detention in the revision committee of the Supreme Court. He was previously sentenced to 14 years of conditional detention for organizing Jebheh Democratic and insulting the primitive court. Counting his previous sentences he has been in prison for 5 years and few months. (ILNA 02/01/2006)

 

75)  "Hojjat-ol Eslam Abdolaziz Azimi Ghadim" was sentenced in Tabriz's clergy court to 15 months of detention, ten years of prohibition from wearing clergy cloths, five years of prohibition from leaving the country and five years of prohibition of living in Zanjan, Ardebil, eastern and western Azabayejan. He is accused of disobeying court order, acting for   anti-regime groups and organizations and insulting the clergies by his actions. 76)  "Ghafour Mohamadi" member of Kurdistan Human Rights Organization - RMMK was tried and sentenced to detention for having links with "Pajak" Hayat Azade Kurdestan party. "Ms. Shilan Oroumiyeh I" was arrested and tortured for being a member of Pajak. She was sentenced to 5 years of detention and exile in Maragheh prison.
