Students: Summon and Interrogation

4-Saeed Ghorbanian a member of Islamic Association of Sabzevar Tarbiat Moalem University was interrogated in intelligence office.(Advar News 1/5/2006)

 

5-Mohammd Hasan Talebi, Abol Amir Amirian, Ali Davoodi, Meysam Golestani, and Alireza Najafian the former and present members of Islamic Association of Isfahan Medical University were summoned to Isfahan’s Islamic Revolution’s Court Branch 4 for the trial.( Islamic Association of Isfahan Medical University 29/4/2006)

 

6-Two members of the Islamic Association of Sistan-o-Baloochestan were summoned to the executive office of Zahedan’s Islamic Revolution’s Court. (Islamic Association of Sistan-o-Baloochestan University 30/4/2006)

 

Students: Trials

 

7- Ali Sadeghi the former student of Khajeh Nasir Tousi University and the director in charge of “Bamdad” students’ publication was tried in Tehran’s General Court Branch 1031, he was charged with “publishing lies” with the aim of disturbing public opinion. He was tried in disciplinary committee of the university previously with the same accusations. (ISNA 3/5/2006)

 

8-Mohammadreza Rahimi Rad, Behrooz Khaleghi, Emad Behavar, Alireza Farokhnia and Navid Gholami Yazd University students, were tried in Yazd Review Court Branch 5 on the charge of insulting Ali Khameneii and disrupting public order. These students were tried previously in Yazd Islamic Revolution’s Court and were sentenced to suspension imprisonment.(ILNA 7/5/2006)

 

9-Arman Rezapour Azad University’s student, for attending in Dr.Ebrahim Yzadi, attending in “Iran’s Nehzat Azadi” and “Jebhe Melli” was tried in Tehran’s Islamic Revolution’s Court Branch 26 on charge of “attempt against the security of the State”, and “propaganda against the State”.(ILNA 7/5/2006)

 

Students: Sentences passed by court

 

10-Mohammad Reza Rahimirad, the student of Yazd University charged with insulting authorities and disturbing public opinion was summoned to the Yazd Islamic Revolution’s Court Branch 1 for the trial. Previously in review court branch 5

, on charge of insulting Khameneii he was sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment.(ISNA 21/4/2006)

 

11-Farid Hashemi Tehran University’s student, for attending in student protests in June 2003, and objection to the prosecution sentence of Hashem Aghjary on charge of “attempt against the security of the State” and “propaganda against the State” was sentenced to 6 month suspension imprisonment in Tehran’s Islamic Revolution’s Court Branch 26.(ILNA 24/4/2006)

 

13-Amin Kurd the student of Azad University and a member of “United Students’ Front” for attending in the sit-in in front of United Nations Organization Office in Tehran was sentenced to 1 year suspension imprisonment by Tehran’s Islamic Revolutionary Court Branch 26.(student committee of Human Rights Reporters 27/4/2006)

 

14-Seyed Hasan Mir Karimi a member of the Islamic association of Tabriz Sahand Industrial University, charged with insulting was sentenced to suspension from studying in university for one year and another student, Behzad Heydari was sentenced to correspondence notification in his educational documents.(ILNA 28/4/2006)

 

15-Rasoul Bakhshali student of Neyshaboor Payame Noor University for publishing the cartoons of Mahmood Amadinejad, quoted from “Gol Agha” News paper, with the complaint of public prosecutor’s office and political deputy of Khorasan Razavi governor was detained and sentence to one year suspension from university. He was released on bail of approximately 30,000,000 Rials.(ISNA 1/5/2006)

 

16-Peyman Aref the M.A student of Political Science of Tehran University was dismissed from the university by the order of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology on charges of general and belief incompetence. He had been severally detained and interrogated by intelligence organizations.(ILNA 2/5/2006)

 

17-The students publication, “Kaghaz-e-Akhbar” which is being published by Sistan Baloochestan University is banned by the observer committee on students’ publications because of the usage of inappropriate explanations.( Students Islamic Association of Sistan Baloochestan University 7/5/2006)

 

-Mostafa Navidi student of Sharif University for attending in March 13th protests was sentenced to two semester’s suspension from the university. Mahdi Gerayloo, the other student with the same conviction was deprived from entrance to the university. Also another student of this university who was suspended for two semesters committed a suicide.(ISNA 7/5/2006)

 

Restriction of student formations activities

 

18-The observer committee on student formations of Semnan University obstructed organizing memorial celebration of the dead poet”Mehdi Akhavan Sales”, for he was accused of being against the Islamic Revolution. It was supposed to Zartosht Akhavan Sales and Hafez moosavi deliver speeches in this ceremony.(Advar News 25/4/2006)

 

19-The justification of the seminar on “Democracy and the Routine Life” which was supposed to be organized by the Islamic Association of Science Faculty of Tehran University was nullified by Dr.Jamshidian the head of the Faculty. After this nullification students gathered in faculty for protesting and one of the students got beaten by the head of the faculty. And also by the words of Amirkabir University Newsletter, Dr Jamshidian has told that he was under pressures by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, Ministry of Intelligence and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to nullify this seminar.(ILNA 9/5/2006)

 

20-The offices of Islamic Associations of Bou Ali Sina University and Hamadan Medical Science University were plumbed by the observer committee on student formations. (ISNA 13/5/2006)

 

21-Afshin Akbarian director in charge of the student publiocation “Hiss” by the sentence of the observer committee on student publications of Yazd University was deprived of being the director in charge for 6 months.(ISNA 24/4/2006)

 

22-The student publication “Katibeh” because of publishing the manifestation of 5 members of revolutionary council and on charge of not considering the interests of the country and insulting authorities was banned for 3 months with the sentence of observer committee on students’ publications of Yazd University and the complaint of public prosecutor.(ISNA 26/4/2006)

 

23-The speech of Hamed Iranshahi the member of major council of “Daftar-e-Tahkim Vahdat” party, nullified by the order of observer committee on student formations of Arak University.(ISNA 1/5/2006)

 

24-Mostafa Sedaghatjoo and Mehran Koosha the students of SabzevarTeacher Training University for publishing manifests on worker rights defense and offering flowers to Sabzevar bus drivers, on charges of acting against national security severally summoned to security organizations of the country and were interrogated. And also the observer committee on student formations of this university issued a sentence, in order to this sentence the activities of the Islamic Association of this university in the field of dialogue are suspension for 1 month, in the field of showing movies for 1 months and in the field of exhibitions for 3 months.(The Students’ Islamic Association of Sabzever Teacher Training University 28/4/2006)

 

25-Navid Gholami, Behrooz Khaleghi and Morteza Boresh Jan the members of “Association of Republican Students” of Yazd University on charges of acting against national security and propaganda against the state were tried in Yazd Islamic Revolution’s Court Branch 3 with judgment of the judge Dehghan.(The Association of Republican Students of Yazd University 21/4/2006)

 

26-Any kind of activities of students’ Islamic association of Kurdistan University was forbidden for 1 month by the sentence of the observer committee on student formations, charged with efforts on weakening the national unity. The activities of cultural societies: “Heh Jan”, “Poem and literature”, and “Ahoora” became forbidden for 1 month. (Sirvan news 16/5/2006)

 

27-Heydar Zahedi the student of Tabriz University, charged with acting against national security, illegal gathering and insulting in review court fined him approximately 1,500,000 Rials.(ILNA 16/5/2006)

 

28-The activity of the Islamic Association of Ardabil Azad University, because of holding the memorial ceremony for the dead poet “Shahriar” and on charge of acting against national unity with the order of the observer committee on student formations became forbidden till the next announcement.(Students’ Islamic Association of Ardabil Azad University 8/5/2006)

 

29-The justification of Islamic Association activities of Hamadan Medical Science University was nullified by the the observer committee on student formations of the university. All of the properties of this association such as books, tapes, computers and… were taken by the observer committee on student formations and the door of its place was plumbed. (ILNA 17/5/2006)

 

30-Arash Khandel and Siamak Nadali the members of students Islamic Association of Lorestan University, charged with disturbing public opinion were expelled from university. Their documents have been sent to the central disciplinary committee for proceeding. And also the office of the Islamic Association of the university has been plumbed by university guards and all is properties have been taken. (ISNA 1/5/2006)

 

31-General prosecutor of panel courts and Islamic Revolution’s Court through a letter to the Guarding of Kurdistan University demanded the student publication “Dah Nag” with directing in charge of Asoo Saleh, closing. This news, political, cultural, and social weekly has been published in 37 volumes. Publishing lies, disturbing public opinion, publishing news about the Kurd offenders were the offended of this weekly. (Mizan News 17/5/2006)

 

32-Following the attack of student mobilization to a celebration of the Islamic Association of Sahand Industrial University (in Tabriz) 500 students went on a hunger strike, in 4th day of strike 16 students transferred to the hospital. (Tabriz News 12/5/2006)

33-“Kermanshah Emrooz” website depended to the “Kermanshah Development Party” one of the most popular news sites in provinces of Kermanshah, Ilam, Hamedan, Lorestan, and…got filtered by the order of officials.(Peyk-e-Iran 23/4/2006)

 

34-The news site of the Graduates of Islamic Iran “Advar News” got filtered by the order of the officials.(Advar News 25/4/2006)

 

35-According to the statements of Alaedin Zohoorian the domestic press director general of  the Ministry of Islamic Culture an Guidance, the request of “Jebhe Mosharekat” party for the license of publication issuance of “Iranian” newspaper  has been refused by the press supervisory board.(Aftab  7/5/2006)

36-The licenses of “Oloom-e-Bateni” with Abolfazl Falahi directing in charge and “Harekat Dahandegan” were annulled by the order of the press supervisory board for not being bound over the constitutional law and disregarding to the press law.( ILNA 24/2/85)

 

37-The news site “Tabriz News” got filtered by the order of governmental officials since May 14th. This filtering was because of the publication of several reports about violation of human rights, political prisoners, and student activities specially recent activities in Tabriz University.(Tabriz News15/5/2006)

 

38-The “Honarhaye Zistan” magazine with directing in charge of Ashraf Zandi was closed in February with the order of the Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance, and its license got annulled just in days before the beginning of the press exhibition by the order of press supervisory board.(ILNA 16/5/2006) 

 

39-Hadi Dehghani the editor of “Saghi” weekly magazine (published in Tabriz) because of publishing criticizing on a firm depended to the municipality got bitten in Tabriz municipality and severly got injured in neck, head and stomach and transferred to the hospital.(Tabriz News 20/5/2006)

        

Press: Journalists Summons

 

40-Abolfazl Vesali director in charge of “Neday-e-Azarabadegan” for publishing a report about Azarbayjan’s Hamzeh 21st division, expanded misconducts in Sderat Bank and the municipality of region 3 in Tabriz was summoned to the court-house of East Azarbayjan. He and his family have been threatened on the phone.(Nedaye Azarabadegan 24/4/2006)

 

41-Mohsen Dorostkar the head of the council of the policies of the closed weekly magazine “Tamadon-e-Hormozgan” and Elham Afrootan the editor of Health pages of this magazine were summoned to Tehran’s Islamic Revolution’s Court Branch 26, they were charged with insulting official authorities and blasphemy, they are in detention since last February.(ISNA 1/5/2006)

   

42-Soraya Azizpanah the director in charge of “Rasan” charged with publishing llies with the aim of disturbing public opinion and acting against the security of state was summoned to the court-house of Marivan for the trial.(ISNA 12/2/85)

 

43-Elias Hazrati the director in charge of “Etemad” newspaper, charged with publishing lies, disturbing public opinion, stimulating individuals and groups to acting against the national interests was summoned to Tehran’s penal court branch 76 with the public prosecutor’s complain. She was offended with the same accusation two months ago and sentenced to pay a fine of 1,000.000 Rials and 18 months of imprisonment.(ILNA 17/2/85)

 

44-Ejlal Ghavami and Saeed Saedi two journalists from Sanandadj charged with illegal withdrawal of the border and attending in the illegal sanctuary of August 2005 (protesting the murder of Shwaneh Ghaderi in Mahabad by the police officers) were summoned to Sanandadj’s Islamic Revolution’s  court branch 1 for the trial.(ISNA 24/2/85)

57-Arash Sigarchi the former editor of “Gilan-e-Emrooz” newspaper charged with propaganda against the state, insulting Khomeini and Khameneii was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment and the order have been verified by high court of cassation.(ILNA 28/4/2006)

 

58-Solaleh Sadraee director in charge of “Donya” charged with misusing of personal pictures was tried in Tehran’s penal court branch 76 and sentenced to pay fine of 2,000,000 Rials.(ISNA 2/5/2006)

 

59-Mojtaba Etemad Moghadam director in charge of “Tapesh” charge with publishing pictures and subjects against public chastity was tried in Tehran’s penal court branch 76 with the judgment of Mohammad Reza Saremi judge; he was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment.(ISNA 2/5/2006)

 

60-Saghi Bagheri Nia director in charge of “Asia” newspaper, charged with propaganda for opposition groups was tried in Tehran’s penal court branch 76 and sentenced to 6 months of imprisonment.(ISNA 2/5/2006)

 

61-Morteza Atri director in charge of “Jahan-e-Pezeshki” charged with deviation from press objectives, publishing lies, and publishing pictures against public chastity was tried in Tehran’s general court branch 1083 with the judgment of Hoseinian judge and was sentenced to pay fine of 5,000,000 Rials.(ILNA 8/5/2006)

 

 

News on Political, Cultural, and Social Activists

 

62-The elements of intelligence ministry banned the educational meetings of “Nehzat Azadi” party. The intelligence ministry summoned and threatened the owners of the places in which these meetings were held and they threatened the attendances and organizers to detention.  In recent months a new wave of summons and clashes with young members of this party was formed. Specially in townships the representatives of “Nehzat Azadi” party were under pressure to make these meetings canceled.(Mizan News 21/4/2006)

 

63-The speech of Susan Shariati on the occasion of teachers’ day in Alzahra University got postponed by the authorities of the university.(ILNA 2/5/2006)

 

64-The books “The Pictires” by Ingmar Bergman publishe by Nashre Digar, “Shazdeh Ehtejab”, “Jomeh Bazar” by Hooshang Golshiri published by Niloofar, “The Diaries of Abbas Amir Entezam” published by Karevan, a book by Hooshang Mahrooyan published by Baztab Negar, and “The Social History of Iran” by Morteza Ravandi published by Negah got blocked from selling in 19th International Book Fair. Also presenting all books published before year 2003 was prohibited, and all books published by “Bakhte Minoo” and “Nashr-e-Shadan” publishing companies were blocked. According to the statements of Mrs.Shahla Lahiji the head of Roshangaran ublishing co the Islamic culture and guidance ministry has not issued the publishing license for 17 books of this company.(ISNA 7/5/2006)

 

65-According to the statements of Mohammad Javad Hagh Shenas director in charge of “Etemad Melli” news paper two men driving a motorcycle throw flammable material in front of the central office of this newspaper and caused a fire, he said at least there were 6 times that the cars of the authors or editorial council of this news paper have been attacked and their documents have been stolen.(ILNA 7/5/2006)

 

66-The book “The Price of Justice” written by Ahmad Fathi the attorney at law, which was published by “Ashkal” publishing co didn’t, got the permission of distribution. The contents of this book were about the trial and sentences of Hashem Aghajary, Shahla Jahed and 5 other women.(ISNA 21/5/2006)

67-Mohammad Reza Shirvand the writer, charged with propaganda against the state and insulting Khameneii was summoned to Ilam Islamic Revolution’s Court for the trial. He has documentations in Tehran’s Islamic Revolution’s Court Branch 26, and he was in detention in 2003 too.(ILNA 10/5/2006)

 

68-Ali Asghar Khodayari the former student and cultural deputy of Tehran University and the member of the central council of “Jebhe Mosharekat” with the complaint of public prosecutor and Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting was summoned to Tehran’s General Court Branch 1083.(ILNA 12/5/2006)

69-Ahmad Ghabel the religious researcher because of publishing two letters to Ali Khameneii and Mohammad Khatami was interrogated in Special Disciplinary Tribunal for the Clergy. He has been taken into the solitary confinement for 40 days in 1997 and 125 days in 2001 by the Special Disciplinary Tribunal for the Clergy.(ILNA 1/5/2006)

 

70-Kambiz Noroozi the attorney at law and the professor of press rights, charged with publishing lies with the aim of disturbing public opinion and propaganda against the state was tried in Tehran’s General Court Branch 1083.(ILNA

 

71-Seyed Ahmad Shariati (Shariat) the head of “Nematolahi” Gonabad’s dervishes charde with forcible possession of Shariat Hosseiniyeh, participation in disturbing public opinion, and disobey the commands of the officers was tried in Qom’s Islamic Revolution’s Court and Court House Branch 3.(ILNA 31/2/85)

72-According to the statements of Iradj Amirkhni, Ahvaz public prosecutor, there          have been 25 persons who were arrested in case of bombing.(ILNA 1/5/2006)

 

73-Dr. Ramin Jahanbegloo the head of  “Andishe Moaser” group in Bureau of Cultural Researches and one of the professors of philosophy association was arrested by intelligence forces.(Etemad Melli 1/5/2006)

 

     74-Saleh Mola Abbasi one of the National Movement of Azerbaijan’s activists in Ahar city got arrested by intelligence forces of Tabriz. (Hagh Weblog 3/5/2006)

 

75-Alikhan Ahmadi, Mohammad Ali Shahbazi and Mohammad Saleh poor the adherents of National Movement of Azerbaijan in Vargahan Village got arrested by intelligence forces of Tabriz.(Hagh Weblog 8/5/2006)

 

76-Colonel Iradj Ghorbani a security forces officer of Margheh got detained by the intelligence officers of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sequrity forces and was tortured in Tabriz’s prison. It is told that Bayaz Ali Emampoor the Commander of the Security Forces of Margheh has had a car accident and he wanted Colonel Iradj Ghorbani to make the decision in favor of him, and that was why they had fabricated a case against him and arrested him.(Hagh Weblog 8/5/2006)

 

77-The forces of the intelligence ministry in Sistan va Bloochestan province with judiciary force aids attacked 3 Houses and arrested 17 person and killed one. Their offences was to be involved in recent insecurities of the province.(ISNA 9/5/2006)

 

78-Ali Hosein Nejad, Saber Beytollahi, Mohsen Damirchi, Bahman Nasirzadeh, and Ali Helmi the political activists of Makoo and the suburbs got arrested by intelligence forces.( Students Committee for defense of political prisoner 15/5/2006)

 

79-Acoording to Azam Taleghani statements, Hasan Sorahi the staff and editor of Ayatollah Taleghani Cultural Complex and Women Islamic Institute has been disappeared since May, 2006. His personal accessories including his jacket, watch, and bag are left at home.(Rooz 16/5/2006)

 

80-According to the statement of Amir Hayat Moghadam the governor of Khuzestan province, there have been 92 persons arrested related to recent bombings and insecurities of the province. Among this 92 person 72 persons were related to the bombing and 20 persons related to the revolts of the Khuzestan.(ISNA 18/5/2006)

81-Rajabalai Mazrooii the member of the 6th Islamic Consultative Assembly from Isfahan and the member of central council of “Jebhe Mosharekat” party, charged with publishing lies with the aim of disturbing public opinion and insulting, was tried in Tehran’s Penal Court Branch 76 with the judgment of the Judge, Mohammad Reza Saremi was sentenced to 1 year imprisonment and payment of 1,000,000 Rials fines.(ISNA 25/5/2006)

 

82-The sentence of 6 years imprisonment and 5 years deprivation of social rights for Ali Afshari the former member of the central council of “Daftar-e-Tahkim-e-Vahdat” was verified, he was charged with propaganda against the state.(ILNA 29/5/2006)

 

83-Ali Shakoori Rad the member of the 6th Islamic Consultative Assembly from Tehran, because of one of his speeches and with the complaint of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting was sentenced to payment of 4,000,000 Rials fines instead of imprisonment. This sentence was reviewed by Tehran’s revision court. (ILNA 30/4/2006)

 

84-52 persons of Gonabad’s Dervishes who were beaten and assaulted by security forces last January, charged with disturbing public order and disobeying police commands were tried in Qom’s Penal Court Branch 112 and sentenced to 1 year imprisonment and 74 lashes and payment of 5,000,000 Rials fines. Mr. Farshid Yadollahi and Mr. Omid Behroozi the defending attorneys of the accused people were sentenced to 1 year imprisonment, 74 lashes, payment of 10 million Rials fines and five year deprivation of attorney ship.(ILNA 3/5/2006)

114-Koohyar goodarzi the member of Islamic Association of Sharif University, Mohammad Ghaem Maghami Tehran University student, Mohammad Reza Noorolahi, Morteza Seifloo, Abdolreza Tarazi, and Kamran Rafiee because of attending in International Workers’ Day Ceremony of bus drivers syndicate infront of the main office of this syndicate got arrested and released on bail after one day detention. Ebrahim Madadi, Yaghoob Salimi, Mahmood Hojabri, Hadi Kabiri, Gholam Reza Gholam Hoseini, Gholam Reza MIrzaee, Hasan Dehghan, Ghoalm Reza Khani, Abbas Najand Koodaki the members of bus drivers syndicate were detained. . 129-According to the statements of Mohammad Yaghoobi the executive secretary of Gilan Workers’ House, the weaving factory “Khavar Gilan” is closed and 200 workers have been fired, and also 300 workers of this factory have not received their salary for more than 4 months. 130- According to the statements of Abbas Salari the executive secretary of Pakdasht Workers’ House, because of huge reduction in the field of construction in Tehran more than 90% of brick burner’s trade in Tehran has been closed.
