Students: News

 

1-By the order of security office of Amir Kabir University, the security guards did not let a few members of Islamic Associations of this university enter the university their names are: Masood Dehghan, Hamed Ebrahimi, Abed Tavancheh, and Yashar Ghajar.(ILNA 9/10/2006)

 

2-Mahdi Allahyari student of Sharif University, Chemistry Engineering Faculty sentenced to deprivation from having dormitory for one semester. (Amir Kabir 20/10/2006)

 

 

Student Publication: Banned

 

3-The student publications “Dochar”, “Farda Pileh”, and “Vajeh No” were banned on the first day of publication by the order of security office of Amir Kabir University.(ILNA 25/9/2006)

 

4-The student publication “Rah-e-Khaki” with directing in charge of Alireza Davoodi was closed by the order of the Disciplinary committee of Esfahan University.(ILNA 7/10/2006)

 

5-The student publication “Sang-e-Pa” with directing in charge of Heshmat Keshavarz was closed by the order of the observer committee on students’ publication of Yasooj University on charge of insulting tribes.(ISNA 17/10/2006)

 

6-The student publication “Faryad” with directing in charge of Seyed Mojtaba Taghavi Nejad was closed by the order of the observer committee on students’ publications of Ysooj University on charge of stimulating the students and student formations and insulting. 7-The licenses of the publications “Sahar”, “Gooy”, and “Khazar” which were published by the students of Ardabil University were nullified by the authorities of the university.(Committee for Defense of the Political Prisoners of Azerbaijan - ASMAK 19/10/2006)

 

 

Students: Summon and Interrogation

 

8-Navid Ghlami, Behrooz Khaleghi, and Morteza Boresh Jan the students of Yazd University were summoned to Yazd Court on Charge of propaganda against the state.(ILNA 24/9/2006)

 

9-Mohammad Reza Fathi the master student of sociology for publishing an article in “Madineh Goftogoo” publication publishes in Saveh city was interrogated in judiciary house of this city and released on bail of 2 million Tomans. (28/9/2006)

 

10-Ehsan Mansoori the student of Amir Kabir University and director in charge of the student publication “Sahar” charged with publishing lies and with the aim of disturbing public opinion and publishing news on Abed Tavancheh’s arrestment was interrogated on complaint of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.(ILNA 29/9/2006)

 

11-Ramin Rezaee the former student of Rey University was interrogated in Tehran’s Islamic Revolution’s Court Branch 26 on charge of acting against the security of state.(ISNA 2/10/2006)

 

12-Farid Hashemi and Mohammad Pooya Heybatollahi Tehran University students were summoned to disciplinary committee. These students were in detention in June for 24 hours. Farid Hashemi previously had been sentenced to two terms of suspension of education. (ILNA 2/10/2006)

 

13-Azadeh Forghani social science student of Tehran University and one of the authorities of a student publication was summoned to court for the interrogation.(ILNA 7/10/2006)

 

14-Hamed Tofigh and Behnam Zali the members of Islamic Association of Tabriz University were summoned to disciplinary committee of this university. (ISNA 11/10/2006)

 

15-Mohammad Ali Davar Panah and Omid Basir, charged with attempting against the security of state and publishing lies were summoned to Tehran’s Islamic Revolution’s Court Branch 7.(ILNA 21/10/2006)

 

 

Students: Prevention from Educating

 

16-Amin Nazari, Mostafa Pahlevani, Samad Azizi, and Farzad Shiri the members of Islamic Association of Boo Ali University were summoned to police station on complaint of the university’s principal. Also 11 students of Hamedan’s medical school were sentenced to 1 or 2 terms of suspension from education. (ILNA 24/9/2006)

 

17-Mohammad Ali Dadkhah the member of Human Rights Defenders Society accepted the defending attorney ship of 17 students who scientifically were accepted for master education but were refused for registration in universities by the authorities.(ILNA 24/9/2006)

 

18-Ali Nikoo Nesbati member of central council of “Daftar-e-Tahkim-e-Vahdat” in a press conference announced the name of the students who were refused of registration in universities by the authorities of the university. Their names are as following:

19-Mohsen Sohrabi the former member of Islamic Association of Amir Kabir University, and the member of observing board on the election of the members of Islamic Association of university and one of the authorities of “Damoon” student publication was expelled from the university by the disciplinary committee’s order.(ILNA 2/10/2006)

 

20-Mohsen Fatehi one of the students who were refused from registration in university said: I have received a letter signed by Morteza Noorbakhsh the head of central Board of student selection in which it has been said that according to the rules of student selection in universities issued by Cultural Revolution High Council, you are considered incompetence and you can not continue your educations. 21-Alireza Davoodi Isfahan University student, charged with trying reunion the outlawed and illegal parties, and publishing lies  about opposition groups, attempting against the Islamic Republic, and making riot in disciplinary committee office, was sentenced to two semesters of suspension from education.(ISNA 2/10/2006)

 

22-Aasoo Saleh Kurdestan University student for delivering a speech in a protesting gathering was sentenced to one semester of suspension from education. (ILNA 3/10/2006)

 

23-Peyman Aref student of political science in Tehran University was expelled from the university by the order of intelligence ministry. (ILNA 4/10/2006)

 

24-Behrooz Karimi Zadeh Tehran University student charged with making riot and attending in student protestation gatherings in June was sentenced to one semester of suspension from sducation.(Advar News 8/10/2006)

 

25-Zeynab Peyghambar Zadeh student of social science in Tehran University, charged with insulting Islam and attending in student protestation gatherings in June was sentenced to two terms of suspension from education.(ILNA 10/10/2006)

 

26-Hasan Najafi student of politial science in Ferdosi University, charged with disturbing university’s order was sentenced to one semester of suspension from education. (Akbar Rooz12/10/2006)

 

27-Gharib Sajadi student of social science of Tehran’s Tarbiat Moalem University was refused from registration in university. (Mokrian web log 13/10/2006)

 

28-Abed Tavancheh Amir Kabir University student who was accused of “attempting against the security of state”, “insulting Khomeini”, “committing Tehran’s riot” was detained by Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp and was in detention for 45 days, sentenced to expelling from university. He said he was under pressure to confess that he had brought weapon from Kurdistan. He added that they have eliminated his sister from education ministry and they did not clear the reason. Students: Sentences Issued by Courts

 

29-Nader Zamen Tabriz University student for attending in protestations of 1999, on charge of attempting against the security of state was sentenced to 1 year of imprisonment by Tabriz Islamic Revolution’s Court.(ISNA 6/10/2006)

 

30-Mohammad Reza Rahimi Rad member of Islamic Association of Alameh Tabatabaee University charge with insulting Khameneii and guardian council and with complaint of Dr. Makian was sentenced to payment of 1 million Tomans of fines and 30 lashes.(ISNA 17/10/2006)

 

 

Restriction of student formations activities

 

31-Vahid Shivani political secretary of Islamic Associaion of Birjand University said: by university’s authorities’ order, the furniture of Islamic Association’s office have been confiscated. (ISNA 30/9/2006)

 

32-Elham Shahsavarzadeh director in charge of “Sepideh” student publication announced: the observer committee on students’ publications of Elm-o-Sanat University consist of Jabal Ameli; the head of university, Saleh Zadeh; the representative of the minister of science, research and technology, Njafi; the representative of Khameneii contravened the speeches of Lotfollah Meysami, Azam Taleghani, and Hoda Saber in “Returning to Quran” confersnce. 33-Akhavan Kazemi cultural deputy of Razi University said: With the order of the observer committee of this university, the Islamic Association of this university got disbanded. (ISNA 4/10/2006)

 

34-Saeed Rezaee member of Student Islamic Association of Isfahan University said: few months ago a closed circuit camera has been installed at the entrance of the university and a few days after 16 other cameras have been installed all around the university and by these cameras the security men of the university monitors the students. He added that with the order of Isfahan University authorities, the activity of Islamic Association of this university called illegal.(ILNA 8/10/2006)

36-Saeed Yaghoob Nejad secretary of the Isalic Association of Mazandaran said: the authorities of university have installed a closed circuit camera in front of the office of the Islamic Association. (ILNA 15/10/2006)

 

38-Saeed Komijani secretary of Islamic Association of Arak University said: the observer committee did not issue the license for the speeches of Abdol Karim Soroosh, Mohammad Mojtahed Shabestari, Mohsen Kadivar, and Hasan Yoosefi Eshkevari.(ISNA 17/10/2006)

39-Director of “Akhtaran” publishing company said: the permanent publishing license of “khoroos” wrote by Ebrahim Golestan has been nullified by the Cultural and Islamic Guidance Ministry.(ISNA 23/9/2006)

 

40-Mahdi Bootorabi director of “Persian Blog” said: this site has been filtered without any preannouncements for four hours. This site is one of the first service providers for Persian web log writers, during this filtration 650,000 web logs and 3 millions users had been filtered.(ILNA 23/9/2006)

 

41-The legal ground of “Navay-e-Ramesheh” Art Company because of cooperation with illegal Persian networks and also distributing illegal video clips was nullified by the Cultural and Islamic Guidance Ministry.(ILNA 9/10/2006)

 

42-Abas Malekian executive director of Tehran’s booksellers association said: each month two libraries are being closed and employees in this field lose their jobs. (Mehr 10/10/2006)

44-Publishing license of “If Love be Love” book contains some poems of Foroogh Farokh Zad was nullified by the Islamic Cultural and Guidance Ministry. Ilia Dianoosh the author of this book said this book was going to published by Morvarid publishing co. (ILNA 15/10/2006)

 

45-Mohammad Reza Marzooghi, said: three books of mine have been refused to get the publishing license. (ILNA 20/10/2006)

 

 

Journalists Exclusions

 

46-Two members of writing board of Hamshahri News Paper were expelled from their jobs. (ILNA 1/10/2006)

 

47-Ahmad Nejad director in charge of “Sirvan” weekly magazine was expelled from his job because of publishing an article referring to the postponement of cabinet trip to Kurdestan Province.(ILNA 16/10/2006)

 

 

Journalists Detentions

 

48-Saman Soleymani, Reza Alipoor, and Farhad Aminpoor members of writing board of “Rouj Halat” weekly magazine by directing in charge of Abdollh Sohrabi, were detained by the officers of the intelligence ministry in Sanandaj. The detainee’s houses and offices were totally searched by intelligence officers. (Emrooz 13/10/2006)

 

49-Poormand, director in charge, Hossein Roueen the editor in chief and ttypist of “Safir Dashtestan” weekly magazine were detained. Director in charge and typist were released after interrogation while the editor in chief is steel in detention. (ILNA 16/10/2006)

 

50-Hosein Shakeri member of the writing board of “Payam-e-Jonoub” publication was arrested on charges of disturbing public opinion and inciting the people to rebel. He was released after a few days on bail of 10 million Tomans. (ILNA 17/10/2006)

52-“Safir Dashtestan” weekly magazine was closed by the order of Booshehr public prosecutor on charge of insulting Khomeini. (ILNA 16/10/2006)

 

53-“Roozegar” news paper by directing in charge of Farzaneh Kharaghani and editor of Alireza Tajik after publishing three volumes was closed because it was not considered to publish political articles.(Fars 19/10/2006)

Hosein Shakeri the member of wirting board of this publication charged with inciting the people to rebel and disturbing public opinion were interrogated in Booshehr General and Islamic Revolution’s Courts. 74-By the order of Intelligence Ministry, the house of Dr. Noor Ali Tabandeh the head of Gonabadi Dervishes was surrounded by 350 of police Special Forces. There were two buses contained female polices too. (Mizan News 11/10/2006)

 

75- Ahamd Zeyd Abadi said the interrogators of Evin Prison have threatened him by sending message with two other prisoners. He said that he is not sure if it’s just a threat to scare him or they have something in their heads for him. he had been in prison in years 2000 and 2003.(Rooz 18/10/2006)

Political, Cultural, and Social Activists: Arrests

 

85-Numbers of women movement and human rights activists who were gathered infront of the United Nations for protesting against the sentences of Kobra Rahmanpoor, Khadijeh Jahed, Nazanin Fathi, and Fatemeh Haghighta Pajooh were stoped by the security forces and 30 of them were arrested.(ILNA 24/9/2006)

 

86-the deputy of 7th Islamic Council Assembly said: 7 or 8 of the protestors who had gathered in front of the Education Organization were arrested by the security forces. (ISNA 25/9/2006)

87- The house of Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Kazemeini Boroojerdi was surrounded by the security forces and and a number of his body guards and pupils were arrested. No judiciary source takes the responsibility of the attacks and arrests of the followers of Ayatollah Kazemeini Boroojerdi. 88-Zolfali Madad Loo one of the activists of National Movement of Azerbayjan was arrested by the intelligence ministry forces. And also some of the detainees such as Rasool Jafari, Majid Taghi Zadeh Ghoosh Chi, Amir Faradj Zadeh, Fereydoon Mahdi Poor, Mohammad Hosein Poor Ghorbani, Fardin Mokhtari, and Mahdi Jalali, detained last September are steel in detention.( Committee for Defense of the Political  Prisoners of Azerbaijan –ASMAK 4/10/2006)

 

89-HAmid Bayat and Esmaeel Mohammadi the activists of National Movement of Azerbaijan were detained by intelligence ministry and been interrogated. (Committee for Defence of the Political Prisoners of Azerbaijan –ASMAK 4/10/2006)

 

90-Fereshteh Dibaj, 28 years old and Reza Montazami, 35 years old the authorities of an independent church in Mashad were detained in December 24. it should be mentioned that Fereshteh Dibaj is the daughter of priest Mehdi Dibaj, one of the victims of the serial murders of 1994 who was killed by the intelligence forces, and also another priest of this church by name of Hosein Soodmand was killed in 1990.(Rooz 5/10/2006)

 

91-Dr. Hesam Firoozi, the human rights activist and medicine of Ahmad BAtebi and Akbar Ganji was detained for 24 hours by security forces and was interrogated in Evin prison.(ISNA 6/10/2006)

159-Ali Akbar Yasaghi the head of prisons’ organization during a press conference said: Iran is among 10 countries of the world which has the number of crimes is high in relation with the population. He added each month 50,000 persons enter the prisons in Iran, 35,000 persons of them are in jail because they were not able to pay fines. He said: there is a prison in Abadan with 70 person’s capacity while there are 500 persons in jail. Yasaghi said: each year 600,000 people enter the prisons of Iran and it means that each year 600,000 families fall into serious problems and if each family consist of 5 persons it means that each year 3 million people fall into problem.(ISNA 6/10/2006)
