In this report a little part of the human rights violations instances in Iran has been compiled

Students: News

1) The committee for controlling Islamic gatherings in Tehran University's law school did not allow "Abdol Karim Soroush"'s lecture. (ILNA 28/10/2006)

2) "Yashar Ghajar", "Masood Dehghan", "Hamed Ebrahimi", "Abed Tavancheh", "Reza Delbari", "Rouzbeh Riyazi", "Hadi Lotfi" and "Abbas Hakim Zadeh" former and current members of the central committee of Anjoman-e Eslami were banned from entering Amir Kabir University. This bann was ordered by the dean of Amir Kabir University and the head of this university's security. (Khabar Nameh Amir Kabir 01/11/2006)

3) Dr. Yadegari, the vice-dean in students' matters of Tarbiyat Modaress University announced that the security will prohibit unreasonably dressed female students from entering the university starting in one month. He also added that the Islamic dress code for women is primarily Chador (the traditional veil) and secondarily long and modest uniform without long slits. Covering the entire hair, not wearing make up and not using other fashion measures is what the disciplinary committee asks of the female students. (ISNA 14/11/2006)

4) "Tohid Ghaffar Zadeh Nadi" student of Sabzevar's Azad University was stabbed to death by a member of students' Basij while he was standing in front of the university's gate with his fiancé. According to this university's head of security the stabber claimed to have acted according to his religious beliefs. (Advar News 19/11/2006)

Students: summoned and interrogated

5) "Mohammad Salman pour", "Ebrahim Rahmani" and "Saman Khosravi" students of "Amir Kabir University" were interrogated in the disciplinary committee for disturbing the university's order, participating in illegal gathering and disturbing Anjoman-e Eslami's activities. (ISNA 23/10/2006)

6) "Vahid Abedini" and "Ahmad Khodada" students of Tehran University were reprimanded in writing by the disciplinary committee for participating in illegal gathering and disturbing the university's order. (ILNA 04/11/2006)

7) Two students of technical department of Mazandaran University were summoned to the disciplinary committee. The licenseof this university's Anjoman-e Eslami publication was also cancelled. (ISNA 10/11/2006)

8) "Mahsa Foghani", "Shiva Dastgir", "Maryam Mehr Azar", "Saeed Ghorbanian", "Ahmad Nour Hosseini" and "Hassan Soheili Far" members of the central branch of Anjoman-e Eslami in Sabzevar Education University were summoned for interrogation to the disciplinary committee. The activity permit of Anjoman-e Eslami was cancelled few months ago. (ILNA 15/11/2006)

9) "Asoo Saleh" and "Chiya Hejazi" directorin charge and chief editor of student publication "Deh Nag" were summoned to court for spreading lies. (ILNA 20/11/2006)

Students: suspended

10) "Abbas Hakim Zadeh" student of Amir Kabir University and director in charge of student publication "Vajeh No" was temporarily suspended from university in this university's disciplinary committee. "Vajeh No" was also banned by the committee for controlling students' publications. (ISNA 23/10/2006)

11) "Roozbeh Riyazi Moghadam" from Amir Kabir University, "Gharib Sajadi" from Tarbiyat-e Moalem University, Saeed Ardeshiri from Bahonar University in Kerman, "Shouresh Moradi" from Kurdestan University, "Salar Saket" from Kurdestan University and "Ali Zat Ali Fard" from Elm-o Sanaat University were not permitted to go to graduate school although they all passed the qualifying exam. 12) "Hossein Javdani" student activist from Tehran University were suspended for two semesters by the disciplinary committee. In the last few months 54 students activists were tried and some were suspended. (ILNA 31/10/2006)

13) "Farid Hashemi" student of Tehran University was suspended for two semesters for disturbing the order in the university. (ILNA 05/11/2006)

14) "Gharib Sajadi", "Salar Saket", "Shouresh Moradi" students who were accepted in the graduate school scientific qualifying exam failed the ideological and political qualifier. Although some organizations tried to reverse the decision the higher education office refuses to let them register. (Makriyan Weblog 10/11/2006)

15) "Jolan Farhadi" student of Tehran University was suspended for two semesters for disturbing the order in the university. (ISNA 11/11/2006)

16) "Mohammad Pouya Heybat ollahi" student of Tehran University was suspended for one semester for participating in Khordad's Tehran University revolt. (ILNA 14/11/2006)

17) "Milad Ghannad Zadeh" student of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad was suspended for one semester for spreading lies. (Amir Kabir's Khabar Nameh 15/11/2006)

18) "Majid Tavakoli" student of Amir Kabir University and director in charge of students publication "Khate Sefr" was suspended for one semester for disturbing the legal program of the university and inviting others to follow. (ILNA 17/11/2006)

19) "Ehsan Mansouri" the political secretary of Anjoman-e Eslami in Amir Kabir University was suspended for one semester for participating in Khordad'd public demonstrations. (Amir Kabir's Khabar Nameh 18/11/2006)

20) "Hamed Tofigh" student of Tabriz' Medical University was suspended for one semester by the disciplinary committee. (ISNA 20/11/2006)

Students: trials

21) "Navid Gholami", "Behrouz Khaleghi" and "Morteza Boresh Jan" students of Yazd University were tried in Yard's revision court. (ILNA 27/10/2006)

22) "Siyamak Karimi" student of Bou Ali Sina University in Hamedan was tried for insulting officials. (ILNA 13/11/2006)

Students: banned publications

Seasonal publication "Matisht" and "Heh Naran", Kurdish and Farsi publications of Oroomiyeh University were banned for fueling racial and tribal matters and left wing ideas. "Oyanish", "Yashil" and "Keshavarzan-e Javan" Turkish and Farsi publications of this university were also banned. (Kurdistan Human Rights Organization – RMMK 25/10/2006)

Students: prohibited students' organization activities

23) The committee for controlling students' gathering in Tabiyat Moalem University in Tehran did not give permission for the lectures of "Azam Taleghani", "Taghi Rahmani", "Hoda Saber" and "Sousan Shariati". (ISNA 07/11/2006)

24) Activities of Anjoman-e Eslami in Razi University in Kermanshah were suspended for 4 months. (ISNA 10/11/2006)

25) "Satar Khan" memorial in Zanjan University was cancelled by university's controlling committee. (ILNA 15/11/2006)

26) The committee for controlling students' gathering in Shahr-e Kord University did not give permission for the lectures of "Dr. Hashem Agha Jari" and "Dr. Hatam Ghaderi". This committee also refused permission for the lectures of "Khosro Seif" the leader of MEllat-e Iran party, "Mohammad Sharif" lawyer and "Amir Rezayi" professor in the chain assassination victims' memorial. Banned films, books and websites

27) According to "Mahmoud Dolat abadi" writer about 40 books are waiting for the release permit by the Islamic Culture Ministry. He also added that due to the chaotic nature of the permit issuing many publishers are going bankrupted and writers, poets and researchers are discouraged to write. He also said that he would not attempt publishing any of his work meanwhile the condition holds. (ILNA 23/10/2006)

28) The new website of students' committee for defending political prisoners was filtered. This is the second news website that has been filtered by the officials. (Students Committee for defence of political prisoner 23/10/2006)

29) In a letter to the head officials of Islamic Culture ministry, "Emmad Edin Baghi" writer wrote that the publication of 6 of his books has been banned by the ministry. The tough publishing restrictions in years of 84 and 85 have driven the book industry into extinction. Tens of writers and publishers are waiting for the permits for months. (ILNA 27/10/2006)

30) "Advar News" news website was filtered for the third time in the last 6 months. The weblog of "Saeed Habibi", former member of Tahkim-e Vahdat office was also filtered. (Advar News 08/11/2006)

31) "Entekhab" website was filtered. (Entekhab 08/11/2006)

32) The website "Meydan-e Zanan" was filtered by the officials at the same time as the retrial of three adulterous persons sentenced to be stoned to death. (Meydan-e Zanan 09/11/2006)

33) The Iranian human right activists' weblog was filtered by the officials. "Keyvan Rafiee" speaker of this organization was arrested and sent to Evin prison 4 months ago. (Human Rights Activists in Iran 09/11/2006)

34) The publishing permit for the novel "girl with a pearl earring" by Tracy Chevalier, translated by "Goli Emami" was cancelled. This book has been republished 6 times in the past. (ISNA 14/11/2006)

Journalists: arrests

35) Journalist of the labour news of "ILNA" was arrested while gathering news in "Karoun's paper factory". (ILNA 12/11/2006)

36) The director in charge of newspaper "hasban" was interrogated. The judge gave approval to his arrest. (ILNA 14/11/2006)

Banned publications

37) Newspaper "Rouzegar" was banned after publishing 5 volumes. (ISNA 23/10/2006)

Journalists: summoned

38) "Rouzbeh Mir Ebrahimi", "Omid Memarian", "Shahram Rafi' Zadeh" and "Javad Gholam Tamimi" journalists and webloggers who were detained in the year 83 for few months were summoned to court for their political activities. (ILNA 27/10/2006)

39) "Mohammad Naimi Pour" director in charge of newspaper "Yas-e Now" was summened to Tehran Ccourt for spreading lies. (ILNA 29/10/2006)

40) "Alireza Shirkani" director in charge of "Payam-e Jonoub" publication was summoned to Boushehr court for disturbing public minds. (ILNA 30/10/2006)

41) "Masih Ollah Soltani" director in charge of "Seday-e Zanjan" was summoned to Zanjan court. (ISNA 03/11/2006)

42) Directors in charge of publications "Abrar", "Abrar Varzeshi", "Sayeban", "Jayezeh" and "Iran Khodro" were summened to Tehran court for spreading lies and disturbing public minds. (ILNA 12/11/2006)

43) "Borhan Lahvani" director in charge and "Bahram Valad Beygi" chief editor of banned weekly publication "Ashti" were summoned to Kurdistan court for spreading lies and acting against national security. (ILNA 13/11/2006)

44) "Lotfollah Zare'I Ghanavati" director in charge of banned publication "Afkar" was summoned to Tehran court for spreading lies. (ILNA 13/11/2006)

45) "Nader Kavousi" director in charge of banned publication "Soheil" was summoned to Tehran court for spreading lies. (ILNA 14/11/2006)

46) "Ejlal Ghavami" editor of banned weekly publication "Payam-e Mardom" in Kurdestan was summoned to Sanandaj court for spreading gossip and lies. (ILNA 21/11/2006)

47) "Mehrdad Ghasem Far" chief editor of "Iran Jom'eh" was released on a 30 million Tomans bail after being detained for 5 months. (ILNA 27/10/2006)

48) "Mahdi Rahmanian" director in charge of banned newspaper Shargh was released on a 10 million Tomans bail after being interrogated. (ILNA 01/11/2006)

49) "Saman Salimi", "Farhad Amin Pour" and "Reza Alipour" editors of publication "Rouge He Laat" was each released on a 50 million Tomans bail after being interrogated and detained for a month. (ILNA 17/11/2006)

50) "Javad Azar Negar" director in charge of weekly publication "Besharat Now" was interrogated in Yazd court for disturbing public minds. (ISNA 19/11/2006)

51) 21 Iranian journalists who were invited by the NGO "Comunications for development" for two weeks to Holland were interrogated by the airport police for hours on their way back and all their equipment, writings and money were confiscated. (BBC 20/11/2006)

52) "Davoud Bahrami Siyavashooni" was released on a 3 million Tomans bail after being interrogated in Tehran court for spreading lies and advertising against the regime. (ISNA 21/11/2006)

53) "Gholam Hossein Jalil Khani" director in charge of "Mehr-e Zanjan", "Reza Ghasem Pour" chief editor and "Toumari" political editor were tried in Zanjan court for advertising against the regime. (ISNA 13/11/2006)

54) "Rajab Rahmani" director in charge of publication "Taak" was tried in Tehran court for spreading lies. (ISNA 19/11/2006)

Journalists: sentences

55) "Abdolrasoul Vesal" the former director in charge of newspaper "Iran" was sentenced to pay a 200000 Tomans fine by Tehran court for spreading lies to agitate public minds. (ILNA 30/10/2006)

56) "Mohammad Hassan Malek Madani" former director in charge of newspaper "Hamshahri" was sentenced to pay a 1500000 Tomans instead of 9 months imprisonment by Tehran court for acting against regime, spreading lies and using women pictures. (ILNA 11/11/2006)

57) "Mansour Mozafari" director in charge of "Aftab-e Yazd" newspaper was sentenced to pay a fine for propounding untrue matters. (ILNA 15/11/2006)

Political, cultural and social activists: news

58) Saeed hajarian was expelled from the political society of humanities and literature department of Tarbiyat Modares University. "Mohsen Kadivar" wa expelled from philosophy society of this university. (ILNA 30/10/2006)

59) According to the order of the supreme court of Ahvaz "Lajnah-ol Vefagh" party was announced illegal and any connection with this party is subject to legal actions. In the last week 3 members of this party were arrested. Many of city counsel members in Ahvaz, Ramshir and Mahshahr are members of this party which started its activities 4 years ago. 60) Ms. Bani Dogal Baha'I faith followers' member in the UN announced: The Iranian ministry of internal affairs has asked provincial political and security secretaries to design a complete questionnaire about the situation and activities of baha'ies. She also added that this is the third secret report that they have received. (BBC 04/11/2006)

61) "Nehzat Azadi-e Iran" organization wrote in a letter to Ejeyi the information minister: the information officers summon members of this organization and threaten and allure them into leaving the organization. They also disturb and cancel this organization's meeting. (Mizan News 05/11/2006)

62) "RajabAli Mazrooyi" the head of journalists union said that the Iranian publications are in their worst situation after the Islamic revolution. (ILNA 05/11/2006)

63) "Dr. Hamid Rahimi" economics professor of Lorestan University was expelled for insulting Khameneyi and not respecting red lines. (ILNA 18/11/2006)

64) Tehran police did not allow for Daryoush Forouhar and Parvaneh Eskandari's 8 years memorial to happen in Fakhr mosque. (ILNA 19/11/2006)

67) "Fariba Davoudi Mohajer" head of women committee of "Sazman-e Danesh Amoukhtegan-e Iran-e Eslami" was summoned to Tehran court for participating in the women gathering of 22 of Khordad. (ISNA 07/11/2006)
