1) The
Daftar-e-Tahkim-e Vahdat central council announced; over the past year, student disciplinary
committees have issued verdicts for 300 students. Additionally, the supervisory
committee on student publication has banned 57 student magazines. The
University Supervisory Committee has also dissolved or suspended 35 student
formations. Likewise, guild councils and cultural centers have faced extensive
pressures and most of their programs have been cancelled. Many students have
committed suicide in the past four months. Using drugs is increased in such way
that experts believe, currently 150,000 students use drugs at least once a

Tehran university Islamic Association of Democratic Students spokesman, Shahoo Rastegari,the editor in
charge of the student magazine Khak;
Pegah Hamze’ee, the editor in charge of student magazine Gioteen; and
Yasser Mokhtari, Behzad Ahmadfar, Jamshid Ismaili, Vahid Moosavi, and Ahmad
Moosavi, Tehran University students, were summoned to the disciplinary

9) In an open letter,
seventeen students declared that they were deprived for political and
ideological reasons. Student signatories included Saeed Ardeshiri, Mahdi
Aminizadeh, Vahid Pour Esmaeeli, Zahra Janipour, Hamed Hassandoost, Farhad Zad
Ali Fard, Roozbeh Riyazi Moqaddam, Salar Saket, Gharib Sajjadi, Paymon Aref,
Mansoor Ezzati, Hannan Azizi, Bani Taraf, Tohid Alizadeh, Mohsen Fatehi, Yashar

Students: issued sentences
10) Aso Saleh and Chia
Hijazi, managing director and editor of the student magazine Deng were
sentenced to four months suspended jail in branch no.101 of Sanandaj province
penal court. .They were charged with publishing lies with the aim of disturbing
public opinion (Isna, 2006.Dec.26)
11) Four students of
Sabzevar’ University were tried at the university disciplinary committee .they
were charged with disturbing the university order and staging an illegal
gatherings in protest of Tohid Ghafarzadeh’s murder. The sentences are as
follows: Ahmad Noor Husseini, two semesters’ suspension; Hasan Soheilifard, one
semester suspension; Saeed Qorbanian, one semester suspension in case of
recurrence; and Fereidoon Nazari, one semester suspension in case of
recurrence. In addition, a number of students received written reprimands in

paper was charged with disrupting national unity and distorting history of Iranian

Student Publications Ta’me Azadi, with the editor in charge of Ali
Kargar, was banned with the charge of denying Velayat-e Faqih (supreme
leadership) and insulting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. This paper

officials using stones and bricks broke the huge windows of Tooti Press where Etemad

fired or forced to retire prematurely. Among them are heart surgeon Dr.

speaker of Islamic Iran’s Graduates Organization, noted, “Kheirullah
Derakhshandi, Abulfazl Jahandar, and Keyvan Ansari, former student activists,
have been in prison for more than four months.” They have been denied a lawyer,
visits with family, access to phone, and are not allowed to go outside their
cells. He further stated that such unjustifiably prolonged detention is
indicative of the fact that political prisoners are denied their basic human

human rights activist, has been in solitary confinement since July 9. He was
