In this report a little part of the human rights violations instances in Iran has been compiled

 

Student news:

 

1)      Three female student of East Azerbaijan’s university were violated by University’s staffs. They wont complain against them for the fear of being dishonoured, also he security guards had threatened to discharge them. (Dastranj.2008.May.18)

 

2)      Parvaneh Khalili, Lorestan university student passed away by electricity shock in the university’s residence. Lack of medical help and ambulance caused the death. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.18)

 

Students: arrested

 

3)      Arash Karimi ,Ilam university’s Islamic association secretary was arrested by security guards. (Advar News.2008.Apr.28)

 

4)      Farshad Dostipoor, student activist in Hamadan University was arrested four days ago by security guards in Ilam. He was arrested before and was released on bail. He has severe lung disease and needs medical assistance. (Dastranj.2008.May.18)

 

Students:  publications’ ban

 

5)      Student magazine ‘Iranshahr’ with the editor in charge of Akram Sheikhpoor was banned in Kermanshah University, with the charge of blasphemy. (Amir Kabir.2008.Apr.22)

 

6)      Publishing permit of the student magazine, ‘Patogh’, published by media faculty’s students was cancelled by university’s head. (Advar News.2008.Apr.25)

 

7)      Student magazine ‘Tagh Bostan’ with editor in charge of Ashkan Mosayebian was sentenced to 3 months suspended activity. It was charged with publishing lies. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.1)

 

8)      Student magazine ‘Shalizar’ published by Gilan university’s students was banned. Magazine was published regularly every month for four years and had special editions for Woman Day, Labour Day and... .(Taghir Baray Barabari.2008.May.9)

 

9)      Security guards had prevented the distribution of ‘Andishe Sabz’ student magazine of Yazd University. They had prevented the distribution of ‘Promote’ magazine, before. They told their families that they will be arrested if they continue publishing the magazine. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.11)

 

10)  Arak University’s Islamic Association, analytic news site was filtered. (Aftab.2008.May.15)

 

11)  Publishing permit of the student magazine, ‘Yaghish’, published by Hossein Asadallahi was cancelled by revision committee on students’ publication of Uromiyeh University. Also ‘Sahand’ student magazine was banned .8th issue of ‘Bolod’ student magazine was collected by security guards. (Savalan Sesi.2008.May.17)

 

12)  Student magazines ‘Haval’ and ‘Neisir’ was banned by revision committee on students’ publication of Rajai University. (Etemad.2008.May.18)

 

13)  Amir Kabir’s news site was filtered for fourth time .the news of putting pressure on court’s judge for issuing the jail sentence for three Amir Kabir Students caused the filtering. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.18)

 

Students: Summoned and interrogated

 

14)  Mohammad Hashemi and Ali Azizi,members of Daftar Tahkim Vahdat central council were summoned to court. (Amir Kabir.2008.Apr.23)

 

15)  Students of Tehran university, Omid Hassani, Amjad Kurdnejad,Milad Chegini, Mohsen Zakeri,Mohammad Varya Abdallahi,Younes Tavana Rad,Behzad Garmroodi ,Amir Falah ,Mosa Azimi Mehr,Bahman Golchin, Salman Yazdan panah and Reza Negahdari, were summoned to Police office. 16)  Yoness Mirhosseini, Shiraz university student was summoned to revolutionary court. He was charged with acting against security of state. He was arrested last year and was released on 20,000$ bail.

17)  More than 50 students of Shiraz University were summoned to disciplinary committees or courts during last 2 months. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.8)

 

18)  Majid Tavakoli, prisoner student since May 2007 was summoned to government employee’s court. He was summoned as the editor in charge of the banned student magazine ‘Khat Sefr’, with the charge of publishing lies and disturbing public opinion. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.9)

 

19)  Reza Arab,Mehdi Davodian, Milad Hosseini Keshtian ,Arnoosh Azrahimi and Siavash Safavi, Mazandaran University’s Islamic Association members were summoned to disciplinary committee. Also Adel Islami and Mohammad Fekri were summoned to disciplinary committee. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.14)

 

20)  Amin Nazari, former secretary of Hamadan University’s Islamic Association  was summoned to disciplinary committee. He was charged with disturbing university’s order. (Avicenna news letter.2008.May.20)

Bail sentences

 

21)  Ardeshir Karimi Khiyavi, Ardabil  University’s Islamic Association’s secretary and editor in charge of ‘Khazar’ Student magazine   was released of Ardabil prison on 30.000$ bail after 3 weeks of detention. (Amir Kabir.2008.Apr.30)

 

22)  Peiman Piran, student activist was released of Evin prison on 80.000$ bail after 5 months of detention, under tortures in isolated cells. (Human right’s activists in Iran.2008.May.1)

23)  Peiman Anjadini, former secretary of Tabriz Sahand University’s Islamic Association was sentenced to one semester school deprivation in disciplinary committee. (Advar News.2008.apr.21)

 

24)  Soheil Asefi, Sore University’s student was deprived of continuing his education. He was arrested on was released on 100,000 $ bail after 60 days. (Advar News.2008.May.3)

 

25)  Akbar Pashai, Uromiyeh University student was sentenced to one year suspended imprisonment in Azerbaijan Revision court. He was charged with cooperating with ‘Oyanish’ magazine and inviting people to participate in June 2006 gathering. (Savalan Sesi.2008.May.3)

 

26)  Zahra Tohidi ,Alireza Khoshbakht ,Alireza Khoshbakht ,Morteza Hossein Zadeh and Yahya Safiariyan ,were deprived of participating in master degree exam. In a letter to Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi, they asked receiving their exam report card. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.5)

 

 

27)  Meisam Farokhrooz, Nasiraldin Toosi University’s Islamic association member and the editor in charge of the student magazine ‘Darug’ was sentenced to one semester school and university’s facilities deprivation .magazine was banned before. Three other students were summoned to disciplinary committee.(Advar news.2008.May.9)

 

28)  Pegah Hamzei, Maral Latifi, Milad Azizi, Morteza Masakeni and Reza Zadeh, Tehran University’s students were sentenced to one semester school deprivation. They were charged with participating in a free tribune, supporting prisoner students. (Aftab.2008.May.10)

 

29)  Ali Shojai, Hormozgan University’s Islamic Association secretary was banned of entering the university. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.11)

 

30)  Kaveh Rezai Shirazi, political-student activist in Hamadan University, received confirmed and firm school deprivation sentence after receiving several suspension sentences. (Avicenna news letter.2008.May.12)

 

31)  Arash Khandel, Lorestan University’s former Islamic Association member, one of arrested students of July 8th 2007, was sentenced to 2 years suspended imprisonment in Tehran revolutionary court. He was charged with participating in an illegal gathering for disturbing the security of state. He was released on 10,000$ bail after one month detention. (Advar News.2008.May.13)

 

32)  After the Amir Kabir University’s free tribunal ‘Dar Hasrat Azadi’, protesting the unfair sentence of 3 prisoner students of this university, 20 students were summoned to disciplinary committee. Sajad Vismoradi, university’s Islamic Association member was sentenced to 2 semester school deprivation for participating in this gathering. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.13)

 

33)  Ahmad Tavakoli,  Nasiraldin Toosi’s Figurative  student and ‘Hamclassi’ weblog’s in charge was sentenced to one semester school deprivation in disciplinary committee. He was charged with making student weblog, inviting figurative students to gather in university, organising students’ camping without university’s permission, insulting Islam and women’s Hejab. 34)  Mohammad Dehghan, Hamadan University’s student and ‘Faryad Sokoot’ magazine’s in charge was sentenced to one semester school deprivation in disciplinary committee. (Dastranj.2008.May.16)

 

35)  Ali Nikonesbati,’ Daftar Tahkim Vahdat’ public affair’s in charge was sentenced to 5 months imprisonment and 10 lashes. He was charged with participating in October 2007 gathering in Amir Kabir University and disturbing public order. Regarding not having any penal background, his sentence was changed into 500$ monetary punishment. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.19)

 

Bans on books and movies

 

36)  ‘Aan Ja’ movie by Reza Kaheni and ‘Atashkar’ by Amir Yousefi, did not receive the play permission by revision committee on movies. They were not accepted in Fajr film festival, either. (BBC.2008.May.6)

 

37)  Before the 21th Tehran book exhibition, Ministry of Guidance and culture announced that just the books published after the year 2003 can be exhibited. In three first days of the exhibition, 300 books were collected and banned. after that several books such as the books of Sadegh Hedayat, Sadegh Choobak, Jane Sharp, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Looter ,Mary King and.... were collected and banned.  Safar Harndi, said in an interview with Farda Radio that only 10% of the published books have sever problems. 39)  Making speech of Abdalreza Tajik, journalist and Alireza Sarafi, racial right defender in Abadan University was cancelled. (Norooz.2008.Apr.21)

 

40)  Making speech of Khashayar Deihimi was cancelled in Tehran University. The topic of his speech was to lie. (Etemad.2008.Apr.24)

 

41)  The Islamic Association office of the Hormozgan University was plumbed. (Amir Kabir.2008.May.1)

 

42)  Making speech of Babak Ahmadi, in Tehran Azad University, political science faculty was cancelled. (Etemad.2008.May.5)

 

43)  Shahram Nazeri’s concert in Yazd was cancelled. (Isna.2008.May.14)

 

44)  Security guards had banned the commemoration of Ayatollah Taleghani. Also the commemoration of Mehdi Bazargan and Yadallah Sahabi was banned. (Advar News.2008.May.16)

 

45)  Due to the security threats, Shadi Sadr’s debate with Hojatallah Razini in Boalicina University was cancelled. The debate was on women right. (Avicenna newsletter.2008.May.18)

47)  Student committee of human right’s reporters’ website was filtered for the second time. It was charged with reflecting human right’s violation’s reports. (Student committee of human right’s reporters.2008.Apr.20)

 

48)  ‘Peigham Borojerd’ weekly was banned .it was charged with publishing an article about Township’s Emam Jome’s son. 22 magazines were banned since the beginning of the New Year in Iran. (Reporters without boarder.2008.Apr.28)

 

49)  Esa Saharkhiz, former press section in charge in Khatemi’s government said: since the year 2000,170 magazines were banned. (Isna.2008.Apr.30)

 

50)  The publishing permission of the ‘Khoob Andish’ daily, with editor in charge of Homan Khalaj was cancelled. The editor in charge was sentenced to pay 2000$ punishment. (Isna.2008.May.19)

52)   Keivan Samsami Behbahani, editors in charge of the banned magazine ‘Nameh’ was summoned to Tehran Penal court. (Advar News.2008.Apr.23)

 

53)   Elyas Hazrati, editors in charge of the ‘Etemad’ daily was summoned to Tehran Public court, branch no.1083.he was charged with propaganda against the state, publishing lies, publishing articles against the public chastity, using women pictures and persuading people to act against the security of state. 54)   Editors in charge of ‘Javan’ daily were summoned to Tehran Public court, branch no.1083. (Isna.2008.Apr.28)

56)   Mehdi Fazaeli, former editor in charge of ‘Fars’ news agency was summoned to Tehran Public court, branch no.1083.he was charged with publishing lies for disturbing public opinion. (Isna.2008.Apr.29)

 

57)   Roozbeh Amirebrahimi, Omid Memarian, Shahram Rafizadeh and Javad Tamimi, accused for the case, named Weblog writers were summoned to Beheshti juridical complex. They were arrested and released on bail in 2004.their accusations are being members of the communities with the goal of disturbing security, propaganda against the state, insulting Khamenei, publishing lies for disturbing public opinion and disturbing public order. 66)    Morteza Falah Meobodi,editor in charge of the banned daily ‘Eghbal’, was tried in Tehran penal court .He was charged with publishing lies and disturbing public opinion , insulting authorities, propaganda against state, persuading people to act against the state and using women photos (Isna.2008.May.18).

 

Journalists: Sentences issued by courts

 

67)    Mohammad Hossein Daryabari, editor in charge of  ‘Goyeg’ weekly ,Abbas Khatami and Reza Noroozi, the writers of the named magazine were sentenced to 450$ punishment in Ghom revision court. They were charged with publishing lies for disturbing public opinion. (Isna.2008.May.17)

 

Political, Cultural, Social Activists:

 

68)  Free and fair election defence committee, at the end of the second phase of the 8th assembly’s election announced: disregarding the structural and legal problems of the Iran’s election discipline, this committee had evaluated this election, as unhealthy and unfair as the first phase. 69)  Hamadan’s court of justice did not send Zahra Baniyaghob’s case to Tehran’s Supreme Court, after two months of receiving the order. She was killed suspiciously, November, 10, 2007, in ‘Amr be Maroof ‘detention house. (Sarmayeh.2008.May.15)

 

70)  Mohammad Javad Larijani, human right’s secretary in Iran’s juridical power said: we should discuss Islamic rights, while talking of Human right in Iran .stoning to death is not against none of our Islamic rules. (Isna.2008.May.15)

 

71)  Ali Karimi, Iran’s national football team member was sent out of the team for two years. He was charged with critiquing the Iran’s football federation. (Etemad.2008.May.20)

72)  Mehrdad Kamangar, Farzad Kamangar, sentenced to death teacher and human right activist’s brother was interrogated for 7 hours by Kamyaran’s security guards. He was threatened to be arrested if he pursues his brother’s situation. (Human right’s activists in Iran.2008.Apr.23)

 

73)  Amir Abbas Banai Kazemi, political activist from Tabriz, was interrogated for 5 hours. He was released last year on bail after 6 months of detention. (Savalan Sesi.2008.Apr.29)

74)  Leila Heidari, Abdallah Abbasijavan, Behrooz Safari, Alireza Matinpoor ,Jalil Ghanilo, Yaghob Salekinia, Mohammad Nosrati ,Mirghasem Seidinzadeh and Saleh Kamrani, Azerbaijan’s civil and political activists were tried covertly in Tehran revolutionary court. They were charged with acting against security of state. They were arrested last year and were released on bail. (Advar News.2008.May.8)

 

75)  Ahmad Daneshpazir, weblog writer and political activist, arrested and sent to Evin prison in March 2008 was tried in Revolutionary court. A 200,000$ bail sentence is issued for him but the case’s judge is not agree to making him release. (Human right’s activists in Iran.2008.May.11)

 

76)  Mohammad Davari, Teachers organization’s central council member was tried in Tehran public court. He was charged with acting against the security of state. He was arrested and released on bail before, for disturbing Public order and disobeying police order. (Sarmayeh.2008.May.14)

 

77)  Fatemeh Goftari, Yaser Goli, prisoner student’s mother, was tried covertly in Sanandaj public court, with the charge of acting against security of state and publishing lies. (Human right’s activists in Iran.2008.May.15)

 

Political, Cultural, Social Activists: summoned

 

78)  Shirko Jahani Asl, photographer, filmmaker, journalist and member of Iran’s human right activists was summoned to Mahabad Revolutionary court. He was charged with acting against security of state, disturbing public opinion and interviewing with foreign media. (Human right activists in Iran.2008.Apr.26)

 

79)  50 Azerbaijan’s political activists were interrogated separately in Miandoab security office. (Advar News.2008.May.20)

 

Political, Cultural, Social Activists: Arrested

 

80)  Saman Badii Arani, was arrested by security guards in Karaj for being Baha’i.his copy making store was plumbed. His brother, Ashkan, was interrogated in revolutionary court. His family could not get the permission of reopening their store, due to being Baha’i. (Human right’s activists in Iran.2008.Apr.28)

 

81)  Rahim Yazdi, Bokan Township’s inhabitant was arrested last month by security guards. His accusation is not yet declared to his family. (Mokerian News.2008.Apr.28)

 

82)  HojatalIslam Abdalaziz Azimi Ghadim was arrested by security guards. He was charged and sentenced to one year imprisonment for insulting clergies. (Savalan Sesi.2008.May.3)

 

83)  International center of Bahai community said: Fariba Kamal Abadi, Mahvash Sabet ,Khanjani, Naimi, Rezai, Tiz Fahm , members of Iranian Baha’i’s leadership were arrested by security guards. Elham, government’s spoke man confirmed their arrestment. (BBC.2008.May.15)

 

84)  Taher Mohammadzadeh, civil activist and member of ‘S.R.K.VT’ committee’s central council was arrested three weeks ago by security guards in Gharveh. (Kurdistan human right’s defence committee.2008.May.15)

 

85)  Ali Sedighi, Azerbaijan’s activist was arrested by security guards. They had inspected his house and banned his personal belongings. He is editor in charge of the ‘Yord’ student magazine. (Savalan Sesi.2008.May.17)

86)  Ahmad Yousefi and Saber Madadi ,Salmas inhabitant, sentenced to 1 and half year imprisonment  were banished from Uromiyeh central prison to Karaj’s Rajai Shahr prison. (Human right’s activists in Iran.2008.Apr.23)

 

87)  Farzas Karimiyan, Sanandaj political activist was sentenced to 1 year imprisonment in Kurdistan revision court. He was charged with cooperating with an opposed party. He is in Sanandaj prison for more than 6 months.(Mokerian News.2008.Apr.29)

 

88)  Samad Ghorbani Sepehr, 28 Azerbaijan’s national movement activist was sentenced to 1 year suspended imprisonment in Shahr Ray revolutionary court. He was charged with acting against the security of state, participating in illegal gathering and propaganda for Pan Turkism parties. He was arrested and was released after 26 days on 30,000$ bail. 89)  Mohammad Azarbar, Bokan inhabitant was sentenced to 5 months imprisonment in Mahabad revolutionary court. He was charged with cooperating with an opposed party. (Mokerian News.2008.Apr.30)

 

90)  Khaled Shirzad, was sentenced to 5 months imprisonment in Mahabad revolutionary court. He was charged with having effective activity for the benefit of an opposed party. (Mokerian News.2008.May.3)

 

91)  Makovan Mirzai, was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment in Sanandaj revolutionary court. He was charged with cooperating with an opposed party. He is in prison for more than 3 months. He was arrested several times before and suffers from visual problem. (Mokerian News.2008.May.4)

 

92)  Jamal Hassanpoor was sentenced to 1 year imprisonment in Sanandaj revolutionary court. He was charged with cooperating with an opposed party. He was arrested at 2006 and was released on 20,000$ bail after 2 months. (Kurdistan’s human right defence committee.2008.May.5)

 

93)  Sahabaldin Chehri, was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment in Sanandaj revolutionary court. He was charged with acting against the security of state. (Mokerian News.2008.May.6)

 

94)  Ali Chehri was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment in Sanandaj revolutionary court. He was charged with acting against the security of state. (Mokerian News.2008.May.7)

 

95)  Chiya Abdallahkhani, was sentenced to 1 year imprisonment in Mahabad revolutionary court. He was charged with cooperating with an opposed party. (Mokerian News.2008.May.10)

 

96)  Kamal Khaknejad, was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment in Mahabad revolutionary court. He was charged with being a member of an opposed party. (Mokerian News.2008.May.11)

 

97)  Delshad Khezrdashti, was sentenced to 1 year imprisonment in Mahabad revolutionary court. He was charged with cooperating with an opposed party. (Mokerian News.2008.May.12)

100)    Vagha Karimpoor, Baneh inhabitant, 24 years old, was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment in Saghez revolutionary court. He was charged with cooperating with an opposed party. (Human right activists in Iran.2008.May.15)

 

101)    Hamid Arghish (Rostami) Azerbaijan’s poet, writer and journalist was sent to Khoy Prison to pass his conviction period. He was sentenced to one year imprisonment, 2 years banishment to Bijar and 3 years ban on publishing his works. (Savalan Sesi.2008.May.16)

 

102)    Mostafa Darvishi was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment in Mahabad revolutionary court. He was charged with cooperating with an opposed party. (Mokerian News.2008.May.19)

 

103)    Shaho Kolyayi, was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment in Sanandaj revolutionary court. He was charged with cooperating with an opposed party. (Mokerian News.2008.May.20)

104)    Hoshang Mazaheri, writer and member of Isfahan journalist’s trade union was released after 5 months imprisonment on 40,000$ bail. He was charged with writing subjects against the reality in his recent unpublished book. (Farda Radio.2008.Apr.28)

 

105)    Behrooz Alizadeh, Rahim Gholami and Vadod Saadati , Azerbaijan’s activists were each released on 30,000$ after 3 weeks detention. (Savalan Sesi.2008.Apr.30)
